Quickstart

1. Create a free account. Every plan includes in-browser AI.
2. Press New recording, pick Screen + Cam, and talk through a task you repeat.
3. Stop. Reelo trims, transcribes and titles it. Save it.
4. Open the video and choose Turn into a skill. Review the SKILL.md and save.
5. Connect Reelo to Claude and ask: “search my Reelo skills”.

Connect Reelo to Claude & AI tools

Reelo is a remote MCP server. Your AI tool signs in to Reelo with OAuth, so there are no tokens to create. Pick your tool:

Once connected, your AI can search your team's approved skills, load and follow them, and read your videos as text. It can't change, delete or share anything, and encrypted transcripts stay private. Disconnect any time in Settings → Connect AI tools.

Recording

Record in the browser at reelo.team/app or with the Chrome extension.

• Modes: Screen + Cam, Screen only, or Cam only. Pick the tab, window or whole screen when Chrome asks.
• Camera bubble: drag it anywhere; hover for size (S/M/L), mirror and hide.
• Countdown: 3-2-1 before recording starts (turn it off in Settings or the extension).
• Review editor (Pro+): trim, crop and Remove fillers & pauses to cut “um”s and long silences.
• Length: Free 5 min per video, Pro and Platinum 60 min, Enterprise 120 min.

Chrome extension

Record from any tab, with on-page controls.

The first time, click Allow camera & microphone in the popup so you can pick devices. While recording, the dock on the left edge has stop, pause, restart and delete (click delete twice).

Download the extension (.zip), then load it at chrome://extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked.

Sharing & embeds

• Links: every video has a link. Profile videos also show on your public page at reelo.team/@username; unlisted ones only work by link.
• Password & expiry: set when saving; viewers enter the password once.
• Embed: on a video, choose Embed and paste the code into Notion, a help center or any site. Embeds keep speed control and captions.
• Viewers can: change speed, turn on captions, react, comment at a moment in the video, and reply with their own video.

Call-to-action buttons

On Pro and above, add up to five buttons that appear on top of the video at the moment you choose. On the video page, choose CTA buttons, set the label, link, start and end time, and position. Click counts appear in the editor.

Transcripts & AI

Reelo transcribes in your browser: audio doesn't leave your device and no AI credits are used. The first time, it downloads a speech model (about 63 MB) once.

• Captions: built from the transcript; viewers press CC.
• Ask this video: viewers ask questions and get answers with timestamps.
• Copy for AI: copies the whole video (chapters, transcript, files) as Markdown. Agents can also read reelo.team/watch/<id>.md.

Skills

A skill is a SKILL.md file made from a recording. People learn it from the video; Claude learns it from the file.

1. Open a video with a transcript and choose Turn into a skill.
2. Review the draft (name, description, steps, prompts). The editor flags secrets like API keys; use Mask all.
3. Save. It appears in your Skill library.

Install a skill without connecting

• Claude app: download the .zip from the video and upload it in Claude's Skills settings.
• Claude Code: unzip skill-name.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/
• Cursor: save the SKILL.md as .cursor/rules/skill-name.mdc.

Review and versions

Edits by the team owner go live straight away; edits by teammates wait for the owner's approval. Viewers and connected AI tools always get the last approved version. Every version is kept and can be restored.

Team learning

Each skill's steps become a checklist under the video, with progress saved per person. Owners can generate a short quiz (Pro and above). Team learning shows who finished each skill and quiz pass rates (Sovereign and Enterprise).

Voice typing

Press Ctrl+Shift+Space in any text box (in Reelo, or on any site with the extension), speak, and clean text is typed in. Fillers and repeats are removed. Say “new line”, “new paragraph” or “bullet point” for layout, and “scratch that” to drop what you just said. Options are in Settings → Preferences.

Security & encryption

• Sovereign: videos and their transcripts are encrypted in your browser (AES-256-GCM) with a key Reelo never receives; video files live in your own Google Drive. Titles, comments, attached files and analytics are normal app data.
• Save your recovery key after each encrypted upload. Without it, a video can't be opened in another browser.
• Secret guard: API keys, passwords, tokens and card numbers are masked in skills, exports, AI tools and the connector.
• Compliance: Reelo doesn't currently sign BAAs or hold SOC 2. Don't record protected health information.

Troubleshooting

“No MCP server found” after connecting

Remove the Reelo connector, add https://reelo.team/mcp again and press Connect. If it persists, note the reference ID Claude shows and contact support@reelo.team.

“Domain blocked” or 403 from a cloud session

The session has a network allowlist. Add reelo.team to allowed domains (an admin may need to).

Transcript stays empty

Keep the tab open until the transcript finishes; the first time includes a one-time model download. Speech must be audible on the microphone track.

Camera or microphone not listed in the extension

Click Allow camera & microphone in the extension popup, then reopen it.
